Raw Foodist?

Via Wiki:

Raw foodism (or rawism) is a lifestyle promoting the consumption of un-cooked, un-processed, and often organic foods as a large percentage of the diet. If 75% or more of a person’s total food consumption is raw food, he/she is considered a raw foodist or living foodist.

I’m not actually going to claim myself as a raw foodist, but I do have some admiration for their lifestyle.  Some of my absolute most favorite foods are served raw; I’ve showcased a few below:

Sushi and Sashimi
[Privus – Boston, MA/Tachibana – McLean, VA]
Fresh Oysters and Clams
[DC Wharf / Legal Sea Foods – Boston, MA]

Goong Chae Nam Pla (Spicy Raw Shrimp Salad)
[Koh Samet, Thailand / Home Recipe]

Ceviche Peruano
[Costa Verde – Arlington, VA]

It is only a matter of time until this warning that I so-eagerly disregard will become the end of me..

Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood or eggs may increase your risk of a food borne illness.
